About Us

The inception of Ink Junkie Magazine came as a response to Brandon Ingram and Kevin Rasmussen’s desire to showcase the many amazing artists that have added their own personal style to the Northwest tattoo scene. The dynamic duo created a regional tattoo magazine, Northwest Tattoo Magazine, which was well-received with dedicated ink junkies in the Northwest and beyond. But publishing great tattoo work wasn’t enough; the team decided to bring even more attention to the Northwest by starting two tattoo conventions: Oregon Ink Tattoo Convention (held in Eugene, Oregon, during the month of May) and Portland Tattoo Expo (held in Portland, Oregon, during the month of October).

About UsTheir efforts to promote these wonderful Northwest cities were not without roadblocks, as at that time, the Oregon Health and Licensing Agency only allowed in-state artists to tattoo on the general public. After putting in much hard work with state officials, Brandon and Kevin were able to have the laws finally changed to allow out-of-state artists to come into the State of Oregon and tattoo on the general public. Because of the volume of high caliber artists that were coming to the conventions, Brandon and Kevin decided to take their publication to another level by featuring artists around the country. It was at this time they decided to change the name to Ink Junkie Magazine, and slated their publication for national distribution, enabling them to reach more tattoo enthusiasts with their powerful message.

“Ink Junkie Magazine is the real deal! No wannabe publication, instead a great representation of our culture, and why we do what we do."
